Wanna One or WANNA-ONE (워너 원) is a new boy group formed through a survival program titled Produce 101 Season 2 and the show aired on Mnet from April 7, 2017 to June 16, 2017. The 101 Season 2 Produce was followed by 101 trainees from 54 companies. But unfortunately there are 5 trainees who came out for various reasons. Of the 96 participants who followed, elected 11 trainees who will debut with the name Wanna One. To the eleven members are Kang Daniel, Park Ji Hoon, Lee Dae Hwi, Kim Jae Hwan, Ong Seong Woo, Park Woo Jin, Lai Guan Lin, Yoon Ji Sung, Hwang Minhyun, Bae Jin Young and Ha Sung Woon. Wanna One is handled by YMC Entertainment which also handles I.O.I. however, Wanna One will be promotional until the end of December 2018 or longer than I.O.I which is only 8 months.
Wanna One finally officially debuted on August 7, 2017 by releasing their first mini album titled '1x1 = 1 (TO BE ONE)'. While the debut song is "Energetic" is selected through a vote. On the same day they held a Show-Con (showcase and concert) at Gocheok Sky Dome. Their first Cup can be performed on Show August 16th with the song "Energetic". They also got "Triple Crown" on MBC Show Champion music, Mnet M! Countdown and MBC Show! Music Core.
